Lewis R. Silverman

Lew has extensive trial and appellate experience in New York State and Federal Courts. Lew’s practice focuses on constitutional law, education law, employment practices liability claims and premises liability. He serves as counsel for municipalities and school districts in employment practices liability cases and cases alleging violations of constitutional rights, police misconduct, sexual misconduct and employment discrimination. Lew also handles civil rights cases, land use and zoning disputes, student discipline cases, special education cases and tuition reimbursement cases. Lew served as Special Counsel for a school district in an administrator’s disciplinary hearing and represented an indicted police officer in the civil aspect of a manslaughter case.

  • Participated as a member of a panel discussion for the Lower Hudson Association of Pupil Personnel Administrators (LHAPPA) regarding parents’ perspectives on educating children with autism spectrum disorders.
