Melissa D. Broder

Melissa D. Broder’s practice focuses on the defense of school districts and municipalities in New York’s state and federal courts. Melissa served as Assistant Counsel to the New York State Grievance Committee for the Second, Eleventh and Thirteenth Judicial Districts. In her twenty years at the Committee she litigated complex disciplinary matters including, investigations, hearings and appellate review of attorney ethical misconduct. Her first position as a lawyer was as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, where she handled all phases of criminal prosecution.


Melissa graduated from the State University of New York at Albany magna cum laude, with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1989. She graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1992 where she was recognized for her achievements in advocacy in the Moot Court Honors Society as both a competitor in the National Product Liability Competition and as a coach.
